FAQ’S

  • Psychotherapy helps you feel better. If you're unsure what that means for you, we’ll figure it out together. Relational therapy offers a unique therapeutic relationship where you can share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment from friends or family. Therapy offers a safe, private space to explore your emotions, it can ease loneliness during hard times, and decrease anxiety which can help you find effective ways to handle life’s challenges.

  • Like most NYC therapists, I am an out of network provider and do not accept insurance. I understand that dealing with insurance can be overwhelming, and I'm here to help. During a consult call, I can assist you in checking your coverage. You can also call your insurance company and ask these questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for therapy?

    • Do I have a deductible? What is it?

    • What percentage of my bill will be covered after the deductible?

    • What is the standard fee for CPT code 90834?

Once you have these answers, I’ll be happy to discuss how to use insurance for therapy.

  • A card is kept on file and charged the full session fee following each session.

I can provide you with monthly superbills or “receipts” for services which are what you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Turnaround times vary by company, but a month is typical.

  • No, I currently provide only virtual sessions in both NY & NC.

  • My fee for a single, 50 minute-session is $255. If you have out-of-network mental health benefits through your health insurance plan, then you can be reimbursed for part or all of the cost. Click here for more information on using your insurance.

  • This is a question that will explore together. The “work” of therapy is unique to each person in what that means and what it can look like. This also depends on your individual goals.

If you’re ready to set clear goals and have honest conversations about what is and isn’t working for you, then therapy will likely be a very productive investment of your time, money and energy. And if you’re finding that it’s still not working, there are no hard feelings on my end— we’ll openly discuss what we can change to more effectively help you make progress. I am committed to collaborating with you to be maximally helpful to you.

  • The length of therapy depends on what you are hoping to achieve and how consistent you are willing to be. While it’s impossible to give a set timeline, many of my clients see significant progress in their lives within 1 year of our work together, and often much earlier. Even when clients have achieved their goals, however, many choose to continue therapy with new goals in mind.

  • I meet with clients on a weekly or more, basis. Sessions are 50 minutes. Longer sessions are available at a higher rate.
